Unfortunately, it seems the back catalogue is quite expensive at the moment, but perhaps going to the band's website or Nuclear Blast's webpage will offer earlier work at a more affordable price for stateside fans. These guys will be around for a while, and maybe they'll help steer some of their brethren toward a more melodic approach.
Not that I don't love bonecrushing metal - it just seems too many bands, especially deathcore and metalcore all sound like they were run off a copier at Kinko's. Not good. Sound-wise, it's more of the same, which is perfectly fine with me. If you're familiar with their previous work, you know you're getting heavy, aggressive metal, Joakim Broden's deep, gravelly vocals, and historically educational war-themed lyrics. On the whole, this is quite a solid album, and there's a decent chance it's my favorite Sabaton CD.
As usual, Sabaton has come out with a good quality album with this one. It's not my favorite album overall but it's still good. I'm a big fan of how they've written the lyrics in almost all of these songs and would recommend this album to any Sabaton fan. Coat of Arms is nothing but a continuation of musical excellence in Sabaton's discography.
The style of the album remains largely unchanged compared to its predecessor, The Art of War. Based on its lyrical theme and content, the album should be more closely resemble those of Attero Dominatus, where many songs are written about battles and resistance during World War I and II. A highly recommended album for any metal fans.
I'll keep this brief If you're a fan of Sabaton, you pretty much know what to expect with a Sabaton album. A driving, stomping, power metal album with gruff vocals sung to war themes with keyboard and choir backing. Well, I must say that I believe that this album is Sabaton's heaviest in both guitar sound and strength of sound field.
This album focuses on WWII specifically. I've read a review on another site that said the guitar sound was low weak , but I don't know what album he wa listening to. If anything the guitars overpower every other instrument including the drums. So in closing here, if you're a fan of Sabaton, don't hestitate to get this album. It's as good as any of their others, if not slightly better than, oh, take your pick. If you're new to the band, this is as good an album to start with.
So if you like a little history with your metal, grab Coat of Arms and don't look back. It's a great listen. See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. My Interpretation This song I think is brilliant. The fact that it focuses on the foreign pilots who fought for my country, from Poland, Czechoslovakia and Canada. And the end line "In our own history, never before Was more owed to so few" was what Winston Churchill said to honour the pilots of the Royal Air Force who defended our country so bravely.
My Opinion Focusing on the foreigh fighters was a really nice idea. I love this song because people basically denied the Polish contribution to the Battle of Britain. Omen Metal. Smile Empty Soul.
